In 2009, Nicolas Mermoud and Jean-Luc Dirad founded Hoka One One with the intention of developing a running shoe that could cope with the demanding trails in the Alps, Pyrenees and Dolomites. This goal was already achieved in the first few years and now the brand wants to conquer the fashion world. Now, Hoka One One teamed up with the New York-based fashion label Engineered Garments to take on an archived model from 2011, the Bondi B. The Silhouette was Hoka One One s first ultra-cushioned and lightweight road model. For the rerelease they updated the classic with an EVA midsole for exceptionally plush cushion and early stage Meta-Rocker for effortlessly smooth transition. The added Active Foot Frame guarantees a more supportive feeling all day long. Within the Hoka One One x Engineered Garment collaboration, three new colorways have been introduced - a multicolor iteration with different color blocking on each shoe, and monochromatic White and Black versions. Material-wise the shoes feature mainly mesh upper, with small hits of leather placed throughout the cage.
